How do I calculate the square footage of a pool?
Rectangular pools: length × width. Round pools: use Circle with radius or diameter. Oval or kidney shapes: use the closest simple shape or split into sections.
How do I calculate pool deck area?
Find total deck-plus-pool area, then subtract the pool surface. That gives deck-only square footage for materials. For a round pool, try Circle Border or Annulus.
How do I figure out the surface area of a round pool?
Measure diameter and enter it in Circle. A 27-foot pool has diameter 27 ft, radius 13.5 ft, and surface area π × 13.5² ≈ 572 sq ft.
How much pool liner material do I need?
Above-ground: floor area plus wall area (circumference × wall height). A 24-ft round pool with 4-ft walls: floor 452 sq ft, walls 75.4 × 4 = 302 sq ft, total 754 sq ft. Add 10% for overlap.
How do I calculate the area around a pool for fencing?
Fencing is measured in linear feet, not square feet. Measure the perimeter of the fenced area. For patio planning inside the fence, subtract pool area from total enclosed area.
